'Evergreen' deals with the frustration from grief turning everything upside down after the passing of both my father and brother within a year of each other.
The solid grounds, what was evergreen was no longer a given and the relationships that you always knew to hold you steady were now wrapped and tangled in their own grief.
I was so angry and exhausted, it was like being lost in a deep forest without a map
My mother and I got into a fight, which never our dynamic but was now the "new normal' it became so heated and so vicious so quickly over what seems trivial now
I remember thinking so vividly ,nothing will ever be the same.
If you don't actively decide to fight your way out that forest of grief it will swallow you.
